Our Most Popular Attic Insulation Service
Whole Home Rehab is our most popular attic insulation service because we don't simply add insulation on
top of existing problems. We remove the problem entirely, seal the structure, correct the attic ventilation, and
rebuild the insulation system the right way.
This is not a patch. It is a full system reset.
What Is a Whole Home Rehab?
Over time, attics can become collection points for insulation breakdown, dust, pollen, pollutants, and other
contaminants. Outside air can enter the attic through the ventilation system and small openings in the
structure, while air from the attic can be pulled into the home through gaps and penetrations.
A Whole Home Rehab addresses the attic as a complete system. We remove the existing insulation, clean
and sanitize the attic, seal the attic floor, correct ventilation problems, seal mechanical closets and other
openings, and reinstall new insulation.
Our Process
1. Complete Insulation Removal
We use a custom insulation-removal vacuum system with a 6-inch inlet designed to create strong suction
throughout the attic.
This allows us to fully remove existing insulation, dust, contaminants, pollen, and pollutants so we can get
down to the structure and address the root problems instead of covering them up.
2. Sanitization Treatment
After the attic is cleared, we use professional backpack atomizers to apply Benefect Decon 30 across the
attic space.
Benefect Decon 30 is a botanical disinfectant made from plant-based ingredients including citrus and thyme.
This treatment helps reset the attic environment without introducing harsh chemicals.
3. Insulation Damming
We install foam-board barriers to create clean, defined transitions throughout the attic, including around
walkways and HVAC platforms.
This helps keep insulation where it belongs, maintains accessibility, and creates a more organized and
serviceable attic space.
4. Attic Air Sealing
We systematically seal penetrations in the attic floor to reduce unwanted air transfer between the attic and
the living space.
This includes sealing areas around electrical fixtures, wiring penetrations, plumbing penetrations, HVAC
supply and return openings, and other openings where conditioned air can escape, or attic air can enter the
home.
5. Mechanical Closet Sealing
Mechanical closets are one of the most overlooked Sources of air leakage in a home. We properly seal
these areas to prevent attic air from being pulled directly into the HVAC system and distributed throughout
the home.
The goal is to control how air moves through the home and reduce unwanted air transfer between the attic
and living space.
6. Ventilation Corrections
Proper attic ventilation helps protect the roof system and allows insulation to perform correctly.
We restore proper airflow through the attic by addressing soffits and ventilation pathways. This can include
vacuuming debris from soffits and eaves, clearing obstructions that block airflow, installing vent baffles to
connect soffit vents to the main attic space, and adding blocking to prevent insulation from falling back into
those areas.
7. Reinstalling New Insulation
Once the attic has been cleaned, sealed, and properly ventilated. we reinstall new insulation using the
system that best fits the home.
1-77 Fiberglass
Blown fiberglass insulation installed to R-44. L 77 is a cost-effective solution that provides strong thermal
performance.
InsulPC Pest Control Insulation
Blown insulation with integrated pest-resistant properties, installed to R49. InsulPC is designed to deter
insects while providing higher insulation performance and added protection.
When Is a Whole Home Rehab Necessary?
If your attic has experienced a pest infestation or Other covered damage, the cost of removing and replacing
contaminated insulation may be covered by your homeowners insurance depending on your policy, the
cause of the damage, and the circumstances of the claim. ISO can document the condition of the attic and
provide the information needed for you to discuss the loss with your insurance company. Coverage is
determined by your insurance carrier and policy.
A Whole Home Rehab may also be necessary when an attic has heavily deteriorated or contaminated insulation. significant dust or pollutants, poor ventilation, blocked soffits, inadequate baffles, major air leaks, open mechanical closets, or other conditions that prevent the attic from performing properly. Pest infestations are one of the biggest reasons a homeowner may need a Home Rehab. Rodents, insects, and other pests can contaminate attic insulation with droppings, urine, nesting material, and other debris. When insulation has been heavily contaminated, adding new insulation on top of it does not remove the underlying problem.
A Whole Home Rehab is most appropriate when the attic has problems that cannot be properly solved by simply adding more insulation. The goal is to remove the existing problems, correct the attic, and rebuild the
insulation system from the structure up.
Our Price
Whole Home Rehab ranges from $385—$5.65 per square foot Of livable space. The final price depends on the size of the home and the condition and scope Of the attic.

Most Contractors Add Insulation on Top of Existing Problems
